Rita Kay Gibson Krafft, age 60, of 1118 Hickory Grove Church Road, Four Oaks, North Carolina died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina.
She was born September 16, 1957 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to Margaret Hall Gibson Brown and the late Robert Gibson.

Rita grew up in Clifton Forge and was a member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church.  She worked for WXCF Radio for 15 years and was known as Country Rita Kay, and had recently been a medical debt collector for Kross Lieberman and Stone.  She was an animal lover, enjoyed going on cruises, and loved everyone she met, but worshipped the ground her grandchildren walked on.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gibson, Jr. and her step father, Roy Calvin Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Krafft of Four Oakes, NC; a daughter, Katana Higgins Ackerman and husband Gregory of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son, Jayson Higgins and wife Vanessa of Covington; her mother, Margaret Brown of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Becky Jean Laxton and husband Allen of Newport News and Barbara Gayle Duff and husband Michael of Clifton Forge; a brother, Casey Gibson of Clifton Forge;  a step sister, Christine Burch of Clifton Forge; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Gage, Kendall, Brittney, Kailee, Jessa, Ryder, and Bentley; a number of nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend W. Pembroke Hall and Reverend Roger Bush officiating.  

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
