Hughes Named P&HCC Head Softball Coach

MARTINSVILLE, VA – Joe Hughes has been named Head Coach of the Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Patriots Softball program for the 2025–2026 season. Hughes, who has coached local high school and travel baseball and softball for the past six years, will lead the program as it continues its tradition of success on and off the field.

“I’m a big advocate for hard work and I know that the Lady Pats are as well. I’m excited to continue the legacy of excellence that has been built at P&H alongside this group of stellar athletes,” said Hughes.

“We are excited to have Coach Hughes join our PHamily,” said Brandon Johnson, Director of Athletics and Student Engagement at Patrick & Henry. “He has been dedicated to the development of local student athletes for some time now and his expertise and enthusiasm will help guide our Lady Pats to further success.”

This transition comes as Head Coach Robbi Campbell departs Patrick & Henry to join Ferrum College’s softball staff.
