Virginia Tech Dining Services is a key partner in the university’s effort to reduce food waste. Dining currently sends about 300 tons of food waste and compostable service ware each year to an off-campus composting facility, material that could eventually be processed at the planned facility at Kentland Farm. WARM SPRINGS — The Bath County Public Library, a branch of the Rockbridge Regional Library System, has a new microfilm reader, a Scanpro 2200.
The new microfilm reader provides magnification to observe fine details, covers a wide range of document reductions, provides clear images and has one click scanning capabilities sending images to email, flash drives, scanners or copiers.
The new microfilm reader was purchased with funds from the Bath Friends of the Library. This purchase was made in honor of retired Branch Manager Sharon Lindsay,  who worked at the library from 1974 to her retirement in 2017. The purchase recognizes her love of history and genealogy.
The microfilm reader is available for use during regular library hours and trained staff is available to assist library patrons. Genealogy help sessions are held every Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The library has a local history microfilm collection and materials can be requested through Interlibrary Loans from collections across the country.
For more information, contact the library.
The Bath Branch of the Rockbridge Regional Library is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Tuesday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Visit the library online at www.rrlib.net
The Rockbridge Regional Library System serves the counties of Rockbridge and Bath and the cities of Lexington and Buena Vista.  It has branches in Buena Vista, Glasgow, Goshen, Warm Springs and Lexington.  Outreach and bookmobile services are provided across the region. It is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a United Way agency.
