Iron Gate Town Council Meeting Agenda

The council meeting will begin with an invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a call to order.

Council members will then consider approval of the minutes from the regular council meeting held on March 26, 2026, as well as the work session conducted on April 20, 2026. Approval of receipts, disbursements, and payment of bills will also be addressed.

The mayor will present a report, followed by committee reports. Time will then be set aside for public comments.

Under old business, council will vote on the purchase of two handicapped parking signs and one “Children at Play” sign for 9th Street.

New business will include discussion regarding a handicapped-accessible portable toilet for the river park through Tidy Services, including whether to continue renting or to purchase one.

Council will also discuss a potential increase in the rental rate for the dump trailer outside of April cleanup month. Additional discussions will focus on a possible increase in trash pickup fees for businesses and families in the Botetourt and Wesgate areas, as well as the consideration of an added fee for residents who exceed six 35-gallon bags of trash per month.

The meeting will conclude with setting dates for the May 2026 work session and council meeting, followed by adjournment.
