STAUNTON, Va. (VR) –  Bath County trailed early but delivered late, scoring three runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to edge Grace Christian 6-5.

The Chargers managed just three hits through five innings against Ethan Wright, who piled up strikeouts and kept Bath County off balance. Owen Perdue sparked the offense early with a triple, and Dylan Hicklin drove in two runs with a sixth-inning single to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Bath County broke through in the sixth. Hicklin’s two-run single highlighted the inning, while Perdue’s triple added another run as the Chargers took a 3-2 lead. Grace Christian answered in the bottom half, stringing together multiple hits to regain a 5-3 advantage. The Chargers didn’t fold.

In the seventh, Bath County capitalized on pressure and mistakes. Mark Durney delivered an RBI single, Cade Perdue added another run-scoring hit, and the Chargers tied the game before taking the lead on a passed ball and defensive miscues to go up 6-5.

On the mound, Cade Perdue shut the door late, striking out the side across the final innings to secure the win.

Hicklin led the Chargers with a key two-RBI hit, while Owen Perdue added a triple and run scored. Bath County’s late surge and aggressive baserunning proved the difference as the Chargers completed the comeback victory.
