Dumped Trash From Truck Fire Causes Stench in South Covington

COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Covington emergency dispatch received a report on Thursday morning, April 16th, of a fire in the refuse section of a trash truck in South Covington. The 500 block of East Phillip Street was closed while crews cleaned the area up. 

Due to the nature of the fire, the load was dumped from the truck to ensure the flames were fully extinguished. No additional details were available at this time.
