ROANOKE, Va. (VR) – Covington Middle School softball came out swinging and never slowed down, rolling past Breckenridge Middle 22-5 behind a relentless offensive attack that turned the game into a hit parade from the first inning on.

The Cougars piled up extra bases at every turn. McKenzie Wyatt powered the lineup, going 2-for-2 with a home run and a single, setting the tone for a breakout night at the plate. Abby Forbes matched the aggression, finishing 2-for-2 with a double and a triple, while Annistyn Lewis stayed perfect at 2-for-2 with two doubles.

The deep ball kept coming. Miyah Howard went 2-for-2 with two triples, putting constant pressure on the outfield. Willow Miller added a triple of her own as Covington stretched the field and the scoreboard early and often.

Kelsey Broughman stayed consistent with a 2-for-3 night, all singles, while Mallory Hale added a 1-for-2 performance with a base hit to keep the lineup moving. Covington’s offense never cooled, stacking contact, speed, and power into one of its most complete performances of the season.

In the circle, Stella Via got the start and earned the win as Covington controlled the pace and closed out a statement 22-5 victory built on loud bats and nonstop pressure.
