Covington Middle Soccer Splits Thursday Night Matches

COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The Covington Middle School girls held off Christiansburg for a 3-2 win, powered by a two-goal performance from Emeri Brown.

Brown accounted for two of the Cougars’ three goals, while Daisy Hodges added the third. Covington built just enough offense to stay in front in a tight match that remained within one score throughout. In goal, Marley recorded five saves to help preserve the win. Covington improves with the 3-2 result behind a balanced effort on both ends.

The Covington Middle School boys fell to Christiansburg 3-0, backed by a strong night in goal. Sam Nickell recorded eight saves, James Hodges added five, and Brayden Pendleton finished with one as Covington totaled 14 saves. Dalton Vance led the attack with two shots on goal, while Oliver Brown and Thomas Chittum each added one.
