Dear Editor, January 2026
Liquidation, not liberation, is what the US is doing in Venezuela. The US badly needs that Venezuelan heavy crude to keep its refineries going. The US produces light sweet crude. The 50 year old refineries in the US, particularly on the Gulf Of Mexico (America), can only process heavy crude. Without the import of that, those refineries will close. Massive unemployment will result.
Saudi Arabia is no longer willing to supply the USA in the same manner as it has since the end of the Arab oil embargo. Saudi Arabia is now part of BRICS. It is no longer captive of the United States. Moreover the US has tapped into the reserves which was meant for national emergencies only. The market has been flooded to artificially deflate the prices. Unfortunately the reserves are now at the depletion point. Hence this planned takeover of Venezuelan oil.
Other Middle Eastern nations are now about to cut off its supply to the USA. The US knows that if China avails itself to Venezuela’s reserves, which are the largest in the world, this will put China at a decided advantage. Unfortunately this military takeover will shatter US financial markets as other nations will start to be apprehensive of US foreign policy.
The US is between a rock and hard place. Quick fixes will not cut it. Reforming its mal-governance will. It is time to end same hands governance. The process of de-attornification must begin now.
Very Truly Yours,
