Virginia Tech Dining Services is a key partner in the university’s effort to reduce food waste. Dining currently sends about 300 tons of food waste and compostable service ware each year to an off-campus composting facility, material that could eventually be processed at the planned facility at Kentland Farm. In addition three games have been postponed that were scheduled this afternoon.
Covington was scheduled to host Eastern Montgomery in both varsity baseball and varsity softball and travel to face the Mustangs in junior varsity baseball. The three were moved to Friday, May 10, due to a death on the Eastern Montgomery baseball coaching staff.
Alleghany has announced make-up softball dates for games with Parry McCluer last Friday. The Mountaineer varsity will host the Blues this Wednesday at 5 p.m., with the AHS jayvees traveling to Buena Vista the same day. Also, Friday’s AHS tennis matches were moved up to Thursday this week.
