LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) — Alleghany Highlands Public Schools is reminding families that Friday, Jan. 9, is a student attendance day, not a teacher workday.
The School Board approved the change on Dec. 15 to make up for instructional days missed due to winter weather. AHPS officials said the reminder is being shared to address confusion about the date.
Students are expected to attend school on Friday, January 9, and normal school day schedules will be in effect.
AHPS appreciates the understanding and flexibility of families and staff as it works to meet required instructional time and support student learning.
