LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) – Alleghany Highlands Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, December 9, because of potential slippery road conditions during the morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday. Out of an abundance of caution, and with the safety of students and staff as AHPS’ highest priority, schools will not open on Tuesday.

Student and staff safety remains the guiding factor in all weather‑related decisions. Families and staff are encouraged to stay safe and use care if traveling.
