Herman Lewis Smith
Herman Lewis Smith, age 93, of 1123 Jefferson Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at his residence.
Herman was born on October 9, 1932 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Ben and Mabel Lucille Bennett Smith. He served in the United States Navy and was a retired Materials Controller for the former H. O. Canfield of Iron Gate. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, and was an avid fan of University of Virginia sports. He enjoyed baseball and golf, and was a member of the Cliftondale Country Club.
In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by a brother, Benny Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carrol Worley Smith of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Tracey Lestock (Jim) of Asheville, NC; two sons, Tony Smith (Jeanne) of Alleghany County and Troy Smith of Clifton Forge; six grandchildren, Miranda Smith, Austin Woodson, Nikki Lowry (Anthony), Courtney Smith, Ryan Powell, and Erin Wade; and four great grandchildren, Laurel Lowry, Quentin Lowry, Meghan Powell, and Abbie Powell.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. There are no services planned at this time.
