ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (VR) – Veterans Day 2025 sent over 600 cards sent to area veterans and some Veterans Hospitals.  VFW Post 1033 auxiliary, with the help of area schools and youth groups, was able to pay tribute to many men and women.  The following is a list of those who helped make this possible:

A-1 Dance Studios (Owner Amanda Burns is a member of the auxiliary)

First Christian Church Youth

Jeter-Watson Elementary School:  Amanda Burns, K1 Class; Shannon Holloway, Pre-K; Desiree Landers, 1st grade.

Mountain View Elementary:  Mrs. Phaedra Honts, Mrs. Jenny Phillips, Mrs. Sandy Moss and Mrs. Christie Weiss – Second grade.  Miss Hiner, Pre-K; Mrs. Garten, Ms. McPherson, Ms. Pillow, and Mrs. Via – Kindergarten teachers; Mrs. Stover, Miss Porterfield and Mrs. Morris – First grade teachers.

Callaghan and Sharon Elementary Schools

Boys Home

With the help of these groups year after year we are able to reach veterans who fought for our country and our flag.   Thank you all.
