CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (VR) –  The magic of Christmas settled over Clifton Forge on Saturday night as residents packed the street in front of Town Hall for the annual tree lighting. Mild temperatures didn’t stop a brief “snow” shower from drifting across the crowd, drawing smiles from all attendees.

The choir from Emmanuel Baptist Church opened the evening with a set of Christmas carols. Faith Shull of Cora Dance followed with a solo performance, and Garlynda’s Fancy Feet kept the crowd energized with an upbeat routine. The choir then returned for the traditional community sing-along.

Finally, the moment everyone waited for arrived. Clifton Forge Main Street’s Jenny Oeltjen, joined by Lexi Balser, led the countdown and flipped the switch, lighting the town’s Christmas tree for the season.
