COVINGTON, Va. (VR) — Covington Parks and Recreation will host its Christmas Market on Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Jackson River Sports Complex from 2 to 6 p.m., offering an afternoon of holiday shopping, music and family-friendly activities.

Visitors can browse a variety of vendors offering gifts, décor and seasonal treats while enjoying Christmas music designed to set the tone for the holiday season. Food and refreshments will also be available throughout the event.

At 6 p.m., the department will officially illuminate its annual Twinkling Trails light display. Organizers say several new features have been added to the trails this year. A donation box will be placed near the entrance to the first light tunnel, with all contributions used to support and expand the light show.

Horse and buggy rides through the light display will begin at 6 p.m. for a small fee. Photographer Jeremy in a Flash will also be on-site for guests who wish to have holiday photos taken.

Parks and Recreation officials encourage residents and visitors to come early, enjoy the festivities and take advantage of the opportunity to kick-start their holiday shopping.
