WAYNESBORO, Va. (VR) – Kiera Lowman continued her standout senior season with another strong showing on the cross country course. The future University of Richmond runner took first place in the girls race with a winning time of 19:48.61 at the Waynesboro home meet held Oct. 8 at Ridgeview Park.

Wilson Memorial’s Thea Franklin finished second in 20:49.37, followed by Fort Defiance’s Camila Cruz (21:45.10), Waynesboro’s Lacey Keagy (21:46.03) and Fort Defiance’s Henley Ann Coffman (21:57.18).

In the girls team standings, Fort Defiance came out on top with 37 points to edge Waynesboro, which finished second with 48. Alleghany placed third with 66 points, while Wilson Memorial rounded out the field in fourth with 70.

On the boys side, Waynesboro’s Grayson Norris and Miles Jolin went one-two on their home course. Norris crossed the line first in 16:14.27, with Jolin following at 17:10.50.

Wilson Memorial’s Julian Galiano took third place, and teammates Zyler Kite and Sage Campbell finished fourth and fifth to secure the team title for the Hornets. Wilson won with a commanding 30 points, ahead of Fort Defiance (51), Waynesboro (53) and Alleghany (106).
