COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The Thursday, September 18, meeting of the Mountain Toppers Healthy Aging Program at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library in downtown Covington included presentations on “Simple Ways to Improve Strength and Stability” by Matthew Clayton, ACE, certified personal trainer, with the Alleghany Highlands YMCA, and a “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” presentation by Angie Kimberlin, from the LewisGale Hospital –Alleghany Mammography Department, and Erin Via, MBA, assistant administrator at LGH-A. Lunch was provided by LGH-A.

The next Mountain Toppers meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 16, and will be the last meeting of the group until 2026. The October meeting will feature “Mask Painting” with Bonnie Keyser.

Lunch will be sponsored by First Citizens Bank.

The Mountain Toppers Healthy Aging Program, which meets on the third Thursday of the month, is supported by the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library, the Alleghany Highlands YMCA Healthy Highlands Program and ConnectionsPlus Healthcare + Hospice. Space is limited, so call
