Got Unused or Expired Medications? Dispose of Them Safely on National Drug Take Back Day!
The Alleghany Highlands Healthy Youth Coalition and Alleghany Highlands Community Services invites you to participate in National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 25th – a nationwide initiative aimed at providing a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.
Event Details:
Walmart in Covington
CVS in Clifton Forge
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Saturday, October 25
Whether it’s leftover painkillers, expired antibiotics, or other prescription drugs sitting in your medicine cabinet, this is your opportunity to get rid of them — safely and anonymously.
Why Participate?
-
Protect Your Family: Unused medications in the home are a leading cause of accidental poisoning and misuse, especially among youth.
-
Protect the Environment: Flushing drugs or tossing them in the trash can contaminate our water supply and harm wildlife.
-
Protect Your Community: By taking part in Drug Take Back Day, you’re helping reduce the risk of drug misuse and overdose.
There are no questions asked — just bring your unwanted medications and drop them off. It’s that simple.
Let’s work together to build a safer, healthier community. Mark your calendars, clean out your cabinets, and spread the word to friends, neighbors, and family. Every bottle turned in is a step toward a safer Alleghany County.
For more information, contact the Alleghany Healthy Youth Coalition.
Together, we can make a difference. See you there!
