Frances Moats Riley, 76, of Covington, died, June 18, 2019 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.
She was born April 3, 1943 in Danville, VA the daughter of the late Clarence Moats and Clara May Simmons.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel F. Riley Jr. in 1992, a son William Riley in 1975 and Roscoe and Beulah Simmons whom she was raised by.
Mrs. Riley worked as a cook at Long John Silvers. She loved her grandchildren and her flowers. She also love to play bingo and go to yard sales.
Surviving are four sons Samuel F. Riley III, Scherrile L. Riley and his wife Melenie, Richard Riley and his Fiancé Mary Fridley and Thomas C. Riley all of Covington, four grandchildren Jennifer Riley and companion Shane Kincaid, McKinlee Riley, Richard “Bobo” all of Covington, Alisha Williams and husband Dustin of Clifton Forge, four great grandchildren; Vincent Williams and Anthony Williams of Clifton Forge, and Richard Riley III and Eli Riley both of Covington, two brothers Gene Moats and his wife Margaret, and Carl Lee Moats all of Staunton, one half-sister Donna Burns and husband Dale, two half-brother Johnny Simmons and wife Sandra and Gary Simmons and wife Brenda all of Monterey, her dog  Miss Priss, a very close family friend Roy Craft, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday June 21, 2019 at 1:00 PM in Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Price officiating.
The interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roy Craft, Donnie Martin, Brandon Lipes, Dustin Williams, Andy Rogers, Shane Kincaid, Chad Perkins, C.J. Wolfe.
The family will receive their friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
