Parry McCluer scored 26 runs and hit four homers in a win at Riverheads Tuesday.
They stayed hot Wednesday at Mountaineer Field.
Chloe Persinger hit two homers and drove in five, while Makenna Smith and Rheanna Lawhorn also went deep in a 12-4 win over Alleghany.
The Blues improved to 6-2 with the win, while the Mounties dropped to 4-6.
“Parry McCluer is a good hitting team,” said AHS coach Tracy Shinault. “They have some good players. We just have to keep at it, keep our heads up and keep improving.”
The Blues hit Alleghany with seven in the second to take command.
They had 14 hits, including three each from Persinger and Jayla Baker and two apiece from Smith and Lawhorn.
Lawhorn was also credited with the pitching win, striking out six over five innings.
Persinger and Katie Claytor worked in relief.
Bailee Leitch, Anna Hayes, Makenzie Kimberlin, Maggie Rooklin and Allison Graham had hits for the Mountaineers.
Graham’s knock was an RBI single in the sixth and Hayes drove in two with a single to left in the seventh.
Daphne Shinault and Averi Phillips pitched for the Mounties.
They allowed seven earned runs between them, while walking four and striking out five.
Alleghany finishes a busy three-game week with a home contest against James River on Friday.
Tuesday’s Game
The Mountaineers were 13-3, five-inning losers at Glenvar Tuesday in a Three Rivers District game.
Katherine Ward was 3-for-3 with six runs batted in for the Highlanders, including a three-run homer in the first inning.
Sophie McCulley added two hits and Courtney Raines pitched the complete-game win for Glenvar (3-0 TRD, 8-2 overall).
Kerry Ann Byer was 2-for-3 for Alleghany with Gracie Conner, Leitch and Kimberlin adding one hit each.
Byer and Shinault both saw time in the circle, combining on three strikeouts and four walks. Seven of Glenvar’s runs were unearned.
