COVINGTON Va. (VR) – The Covington Middle School Volleyball team defeats Northside Wednesday evening, earning a straight-set victory, 25-13 and 25-21.
With the opening set the Cougars dominated the court. Covington stayed composed, and focused bringing the twelve-point win, 25-13. Emma Morgan’s serving proved crucial, pacing the team with seven points, while Abby Forbes added five. Allie Crawford chipped in two, and Eva Arritt scored one.
With momentum on their side, the Cougars brought the same energy to the second set. Journee Miller sparked the team with six service points, while Miyah Howard and Eva Arritt added three each. Abby Forbes contributed one to help close out the 25-21 win.
It was a full team effort, Emma Morgan’s steady serving in the opener and Journee Miller’s strong run in the second highlighted the night. The Lady Cougars will travel Monday to Central Academy, set starts at 5:30.
