Deloris Nancy Hall Higgins
Deloris “Nancy” Hall Higgins, age 91, of 2224 Athol Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the home of her daughter.
Nancy was born on January 16, 1934 in Clifton Forge to the late Preston McKinley “Hi” Hall, Sr. and Edith Virginia Liptrap Hall. She was a homemaker throughout her life, and an Inspector for H. O. Canfield, retiring after 34 years. She was of the Baptist faith, loved the Virginia Tech Hokies, and enjoyed watching westerns on TV.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kenneth “Pee Wee” Higgins, Sr.; two brothers, John Hall and Preston “Bum” Hall; a sister, Ruth “Punk” Peters; two sisters-in-law, Martha Hall and Mary Jane “Slug” Hall; and a son-in-law, David Deaton.
She is survived by a daughter, Toni Ann Higgins Deaton (David) of Clifton Forge; a son, Robert Kenneth “Kenny” Higgins, Jr. (Sandy) of Clifton Forge; a brother-in-law, Jim Peters of Millboro; four grandchildren, Heather Perlozzo (Nick), Brooke O’Byrne (Stephen), Ashley Byrd (Brian), and Kenzie Brendle (Harrison); six great grandchildren, Sophia, Rocky, Grace, Myles, Stella and Piper, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Reverend William Hartsfield officiating and Mr. Buddy Buchanan singing two hymns. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Brian Byrd, Rocky Perlozzo, Myles O’Byrne, Stephen O’Byrne, Bryan Simpson, and Mack Higgins with Nick Perlozzo and Harrison Brendle serving as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will visit with friends on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
