Elwood Earl

“Bobby” Knick

Elwood Earl “Bobby” Knick, age 77, of 104 Walton Church Lane, Box RR, Clifton Forge, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.

Bobby was born on February 7, 1948 in Clifton Forge, and a child of Lawrence Elwood Knick and Lucy Lula Mays Nicely Knick.  He was a machinist for CSX Transportation, and a musician with local bands throughout his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and as a member of the Iron Gate Baptist Church, served as a fisher of men for the Lord. He was also a member of the Clifton Forge Masonic Lodge # 166 A.F. & A.M.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Wayne Knick, as well as other members of his family throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jean Hodge Knick of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Dana Al Balushi (Amir) of the Sultanate of Oman, Middle East; a son, Dewayne Knick of Richmond; a step daughter, Shasta Robertson of Clifton Forge; six grandchildren, Brittany (Cody), Karim, Salima (Abdul), Sabrina, Gage, and Madison (Nick); six great grandchildren, Skylar, Lexi, Brantley, Little Dana, Abdula, Hali, and a baby boy on the way; a number of nieces, nephews, and special family members; and his special friends, Cindy Johnson, Catherine Dudley, Harry Anderson, and John Ryan.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.  There are no services planned at this time.

Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Iron Gate Baptist Church Building Fund.
