IRON GATE, Va. (VR) – The Town of Iron Gate underwent some changes rather rapidly in the latest town council meeting. While Ashley Prior had resigned her position at the meeting last month, this meeting saw Prior read a letter asking to be reinstated as Town Clerk and for the previous letter to be rescinded. Prior stated this decision came after much reflection.
The Council then moved to accept Prior’s rescinding of the resignation letter and to accept her new letter to reappoint her as Town Clerk.
Mayor Kawahna Persinger read a letter from Christopher Mayo explaining that he had moved to Iron Gate last year and been keeping up with events in the town. He stated he had read about the vacancy on the Council left by Vice Mayor Erskine on the back of his water bill and wanted to fill that position.
The council put to a vote filling the vacant seat with Christopher Mayo and it passed unanimously.
