HOT SPRINGS, Va. (VR) – NASCAR veteran Kyle Petty completed his 29th annual Charity Ride across America, raising funds for Victory Junction Gang Camps, a nonprofit founded in memory of his late son Adam. The week-long journey, spanning 1,400 miles from Traverse City, Michigan, to Hot Springs, Virginia, concluded May 9th with approximately 225 participants.
The ride, which began on May 3rd, aims to support camps for children with disabilities at no cost to their families. Local communities along the route turned out to support the riders. Last year’s event raised $1.8 million for the camps, with this year’s total yet to be determined.
Richard Petty, NASCAR’s “King” and Kyle’s father, continues to support the charitable ride by accompanying his son for the event started in honor of his grandson Adam Petty, who envisioned creating special experiences for children facing medical challenges.
The charity ride represents nearly three decades of commitment to providing joy and memorable experiences for children with disabilities.
