School Board Updated On Family Engagement Program

It was all Alleghany Friday night in Mountaineer Gym.
Alleghany Red whipped Bath County, 63-23, and Alleghany Blue dumped Covington, 63-16, in the semifinal round of the 51st Annual All-Star Youth Basketball Tournament.
The two Alleghany teams will hook up in what should be an entertaining championship game tonight, following a 7 p.m. consolation game between the stars from Bath County and Covington.
Red used a 24-0 first-half run to take command in Friday’s opening semi.
Wyatt Campbell led the winners with 11 points, while Epherem Morris added 10, eight coming in the opening quarter. Nathen Chapman pulled in a game-high 11 rebounds and Branden Lodge just missed double digits with nine.
Dillon Royer had nine points and seven rebounds for Bath.
Blue used seven three-balls to pull away in Friday’s nightcap.
Hunter Depriest put up a game-high 22 points and added six rebounds for the winners, Kai Rowland had seven points and Chase Depriest had a team-high eight boards.
Dominick Davis led Covington with four points.
