LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) – Alleghany High School honored its top student-athletes Wednesday evening during the annual Senior Awards Night, where Chase DePriest and Bryce Leitch were named the 2025 Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

The awards, presented by Director of Athletics and Student Activities Ty Dobbs, recognize senior athletes who have made a significant impact in sports, in the classroom, and throughout the community.

“These awards go to a male and female athlete who contribute on and off the court, in the classroom, in the community, and who play a huge role in multiple sports,” Dobbs said during the ceremony.

Chase DePriest, a multi-sport athlete known for his leadership and determination, excelled in football, basketball and wrestling. His commitment to his teams, his academics, and his peers made him a standout throughout his high school career.

Bryce Leitch made her mark in basketball, volleyball and softball, earning praise for her competitive spirit, positive attitude, and dedication. Her involvement in school and the local community made her a leader beyond athletics.

As they prepare to graduate, both Chase and Bryce leave behind a lasting legacy and set a high standard for future Alleghany Cougars to follow.
