Alleghany Highlands School Board Personnel Action from April 14 meeting

ALLEGHANY, Va. (VR) – At the conclusion of closed session on Monday, April 14, 2025, the School Board took the following personnel action:

The School Board approved the appointments of Lori K. Mattson as Assistant Principal; Heather S. Eggleston as Special Education Teacher; and Jessica N. Nicely as Custodian; all at Alleghany High School. Carrie L. Tidd was approved as School Nurse at Callaghan Elementary School. Also approved was Shalee J. Kornhiser as Food Services Worker Part-Time; Kristi K. Weiss as Teacher; and Bridget R. Wright as Food Services Worker Part-Time; all at Mountain View Elementary School. Katie G. Gibson was approved as Teacher at Sharon Elementary School. Samantha R. Reid was approved as Art Teacher at Sharon Elementary School and Callaghan Elementary School. Also approved Timothy J. Preston as Mental Health Counselor; and Kathleen M. Sexton as Bus Driver.

In Extra-Curricular activities the School Board approved Mary D. Tyree as Varsity Assistant Track Coach at Alleghany High School.

The School Board accepted the resignations of Molly A. Diment; Band Teacher at Covington Middle School; Tereva M. Blake; School Secretary at Alleghany High School/Clifton Academy; Gail M. Craft; Food Services Worker Part Time at Mountain View Elementary School; and Madeline G. Myers; JV Volleyball Head Coach at Alleghany High School.

The School Board has accepted the retirements of Tracy M. Miller; Health and Physical Fitness Teacher at Jeter-Watson Elementary School; and Amy R. Dew; Assistant Principal at Mountain View Elementary School.
