ROANOKE, Va. (VR) – The Covington Middle School Cougars girls soccer team hit the road and brought the heat, earning a dominant 6-0 win in an impressive all-around performance away from home.
Emeri led the scoring surge with a stellar hat trick, showcasing her finishing skills and setting the pace early in the match. Sixth-grader Haley Jonas added a goal of her own, and fellow sixth-grader Claire McGraw found the net twice to complete the offensive onslaught.
Defensively, the Cougars held strong and never wavered. Goalkeeper Marley Aragones recorded a clean sheet with two saves, anchoring the back line and preserving the shutout.
