A former Virginian Review staff writer has died.
With her beloved Alan by her side, Kirsten Lissi Richardson-Pearce departed earth Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019, at U.Va. Medical Center in Charlottesville, after a courageous three-year battle against leukemia.
Kirsten was born July 7, 1991, on her daddy’s birthday in Columbia, S.C.
Kirsten married her best friend and love of her life Michael Alan Pearce, May 28, 2016.
Kirsten is the daughter of Scott Richardson (Pennisu) of Orlando, Fla., and Cathy Bush Richardson of Clifton Forge; the sister of Michael Richardson of Pittsburgh, Pa.; the granddaughter of Colin Richardson of the City of Bristol, England and the late Lissi Wanke Richardson of Chatham, Kent, England; the granddaughter of Roger and Carol Bush, formerly of Clifton Forge, and now of Black Mountain, N.C.
She was the daughter-in-law of the late Alan Pearce and Debbie McGinnis Pearce of Waynesboro; the sister-in-law of Aaron (Mia) Pearce of Charlotte, N.C. and Brandon (Zoey) Pearce and Jonathan Pearce of Waynesboro; the “daughter from the other side of the mountain” of Steve and Laura Shaver of Hot Springs; the “sister from the other side of the mountain” of Trey, T.J. and Alex Shaver.
Kirsten is lovingly held in the hearts of her uncles, aunts, cousins, the Pearce family and innumerable special friends.
Kirsten Richardson-Pearce is a former Jr. Miss Bath County, a graduate of Columbia International University, former child minder and private teacher to Jude and Julia Pfeiffer of Greenwich, London, England, former reporter for the Virginian Review, former blogger of MyLifeTintedPink and
TheTeapotJournalist and former admissions counselor for Montreat College.
Kirsten was a freelance journalist, a published participant with Whistle Words, a U.Va. cancer support for women, an American Shakespeare Center & Blackfriars Playhouse volunteer and interviewing Shakespearean actors and scholars for “Actors’ Virtual Roundtable” in the soon to be published,
“Shakespeare’s Auditory Worlds: Hearing on Stage, Then and Now.”
Kirsten loved surprises, loved planning parties and loved her family and friends. Kirsten never knew a stranger.
You are invited to Alan’s Celebration of Kristen’s life, Sunday, Nov. 24, 4:30-6 p.m. at Blackfriars Playhouse, 10 S. Market Street, Staunton, immediately followed by a gathering with light hor d’oeuvres at Stelle Rose at Staunton Station, 36 Middlebrook Avenue, Staunton.
Kirsten’s wishes for this Celebration are bright colors, lots of flowers, music and conversations.
Kirsten loved making memories.
