RONCEVERTE W.Va. (VR) – Imagine a cupcake that’s so beautifully decorated that you hesitate to take a bite. You know that once you do, the masterfully piped frosting swirled into perfection will be demolished. But you do it anyway because as beautiful as this dessert is, you know that it will taste even better.

The Rolling Dough Co., a home-based bakery in Ronceverte, West Virginia, is one woman’s passion and it shows through her culinary artistry.

Celebrating her one year anniversary in business, Elizabeth Kirby, owner of The Rolling Dough Co., explains why she chose to start a home bakery. “I am a stay-at-home mom of four, and I started this business a year ago in March,” Kirby says. “I did it because I’ve always had a passion for cooking, baking and creating. It’s an outlet for me to have that and to make some extra money while being able to stay at home with my kids,” she adds. “I wanted to do something that I love and be able to share my passion with others.”

Specializing in breads, cakes, pies, gourmet cupcakes and cookies, The Rolling Dough Co. has a nice selection for customers who may be looking for a homemade centerpiece for that special birthday, anniversary, family gathering or other occasion. “My most popular menu items are the sourdough bread, cakes and bagels,” says Kirby. “As for my personal favorite, my family loves the cupcakes, and they are always so excited when I have extra.”

In an effort to provide customers with the highest quality ingredients available, Kirby admits to being very selective. “I take pride in using local eggs, real butter, non-GMO flour, fresh and organic produce, and I do my best to support our local resources to bring you the best, made-from-scratch bakes,” she says. “I also offer a small selection of gluten-free options.”

Every business owner knows that customer satisfaction is the most important ingredient for success. After one year in business, Elizabeth Kirby wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to those who have supported The Rolling Dough Co. and thereby allowing her to continue doing what she loves. “What I do wouldn’t be possible without my customers,” she says. “I have a lot of repeat customers that have been with me since I started out, and I just appreciate them all so much. In a community full of choices, thank you for choosing me.”

Customers who wish to place an order with The Rolling Dough Co. may do so at any time either by phone, text or Facebook messenger. Payment options include a lock box for cash payments, Venmo, PayPal and Cash App. “My preferred lead time for custom orders is at least two days,” says Kirby. “I have people who reach out to me months in advance for special occasions, but I also have some people who need things last minute. As long as my schedule isn’t crazy, I make it happen,” she adds.

The Rolling Dough Co. allows customers to place an order and either pickup or have it delivered. “I accept custom orders all the time and also sell once a week exclusively at Primitive Goods WV in Ronceverte,” Kirby says. “You can also pick up at the bakery stand which is always on the front porch of my house.” Customers who wish to have their order delivered should check for availability. Typically, delivery is available at no charge to Covington, Virginia, on Monday through Friday. Local delivery to Lewisburg, Ronceverte and nearby surrounding areas is available for a $10 fee and is based on schedule availability.

In honor of their one year anniversary, The Rolling Dough Co. is offering a discount to all customers. When you purchase one menu item at regular price, you can choose a second menu item at a 15% discount throughout the entire month of March.
