Former Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Indicted for Embezzlement

FINCASTLE, Va. (VR) – The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office confirms that former Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director, Khari Ryder, 50 of Roanoke, Virginia, has been indicted for embezzlement following an extensive investigation into alleged financial discrepancies.

In October of 2023, the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of alleged misuse of funds involving the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce.

Ryder has been formally served with an indictment for embezzlement on March 10, 2025, and released on a $5,000.00 unsecured bond.

This remains an active investigation. Ryder is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on March 18, 2025.
