CLIFTON FORGE — On Sunday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. in the John E. Hillert Auditorium of the Historic Masonic Theatre, Last Illusion brings the Holiday cheer to the Alleghany Highlands.
Last Illusion filled the stage two Decembers ago with a production that left audiences amazed.
An illness kept them off the theatre stage last year, but the Historic Masonic Theatre is pleased to present these talented musicians and technicians back this year to celebrate the magic of Christmas and the magic of Trans-Siberian Orchestra through the magic of Last Illusion.
Several years in the making, Last Illusion was formed with one sole purpose: to become the premier musical tribute to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, whose founder, Paul O’Neill, died in 2017.
O’Neill explained the influences that led to his vision for Trans-Siberian Orchestra in an interview with The Morning Call prior to his death.
“[Effects-heavy concert production] was always part of the vision for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, [and] the mixing of classical with rock, which I obviously got from bands like Emerson, Lake and Palmer,” he said. “And the rock-opera aspect, which I love because it gives a third dimension, which I plagiarized from The Who.”
Tickets are: $20 for main orchestra, $15 for rear orchestra and front balcony, and $12 for rear balcony. Box seats are $30 each.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.historicmasonictheatre.com, by calling the box office at (540) 862-5655, or at the ticket booth prior to the performance.
For more information regarding the holiday events at the Historic Masonic Theatre, please visit the website and/or Facebook page.
