Kenneth Lee Reid

Kenneth Lee Reid, age 81, of 1407 Staunton Street, Selma, Virginia died on Monday, March 3, 2025, at his residence in Selma. 

Kenneth was born on June 17, 1943, in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Roy “Kenney” Reid, Jr. and Loretta Mae Unroe Reid.  He served in the United States Navy aboard the U. S. S. Shangri-La and was a maintenance worker for the Town of Iron Gate.  He loved animals and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Reid and a great uncle, Preston Unroe.

He is survived by his life partner, Lola Clark Lee of Selma; four step children, Will Lee (Leslie) of Lexington, and Angie Kimberlin (Tony), Chuck Lee (Kathy), and Jay Lee (Kim Wilhelm), all of Alleghany County; six sisters, Cheryl Morris (Harold) of Roanoke, Carolyn Jesnowski (Bill) of Maryland, Evelyn McCroskey of Roanoke, April Griffith (Tommy) of Georgia, and Nancy Faidley (Preston) of Iron Gate; two brothers, Pete Reid (Carol) of Alleghany County and Bruce Reid of Roanoke; as well as a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their appreciation to ConnectionsPlus Healthcare and Hospice for their wonderful care.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating.  Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
