CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (VR)- Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is excited to announce that the application deadline for the MG-TEC IT Academy has been extended to March 15!

The MG-TEC IT Academy is a unique opportunity for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to explore careers in information technology, including IT, cybersecurity, robotics, and more. If you know a high school student who enjoys problem-solving, working with computers,
or helping others with tech issues, this program is a perfect fit!

The program allows students to earn college credit while gaining hands-on experience in the exciting fields of technology. Students will have the chance to participate in engaging activities like flying drones, building robots, learning ethical hacking, and developing skills to protect
businesses from digital threats.

The MG-TEC IT Academy offers pathways in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and technical support, allowing students to align their education with their passions and career goals. With the IT industry projected to grow by 11% from 2019 to 2029, this program provides students with
the skills and certifications needed to jump-start their careers or continue their education in college.

“We aim to give students the tools they need to innovate and thrive in a rapidly changing digital landscape,” said Ashley Pratt, Director of the MG-TEC IT Academy. “By offering hands-on projects, industry partnerships, and a focus on real-world challenges, we are preparing students
for the future of work in technology.”

Enrollment is now open, and applying takes less than 5 minutes! Simply visit www.mgcc.edu/mg-tec to apply by the extended deadline of March 15. Students have the option to attend classes in person, via Zoom, or asynchronously, ensuring flexible learning options for
all.
