Mitzi Ridgewell
Mitzi Witt Ridgewell, aged 65, of Tampa, FL and Covington VA passed away on February 17, 2025.
The daughter of Bobbie E Witt and Nancy Agnor Witt, Mitzi was born in Roanoke, VA November 17, 1959, and grew up in Covington, VA. She happily spent her last years mostly in Covington. She worked as a personal care giver for many people in the Tampa Bay area.
Mitzi was a graduate of Alleghany County High School Class of 1978. She was also a long-time member of Mallow Presbyterian Church.
Mitzi is preceded in death by Marty Ridgewell, Mitzi’s Husband of over 30 years, Peanut, Mitzi’s much loved grand puppy, and Jakie, another furry member of the family.
Surviving Mitzi are her son Adam Ridgewell and his wife Emily of Lakeland, FL with grand puppies Mr. Spock and Scotty “Monster”, and her daughter Amy Ridgewell of Covington and her grandson Thomas Martin Neill who gave Mitzi so much joy, sister Dixie Witt Oliver and Roger Oliver who Mitzi considered a brother rather than an in-law of Natural Well, VA. Also, her nephew Chris Oliver of Conway, SC and niece Jillian Lopez of The Woodlands, TX. Mitzi also leaves behind Lola Lopez, her great niece who she tremendously enjoyed spoiling. and Mitzi’s adopted Aunt Carolyn Jones of Covington, VA.
Mitzi had many special friends, Cathy and Roger Hayslett, Rhonda and Mark Smith, Shanda Carter, and Jeanie Simpson, all of the Alleghany Highlands. And Ken and Jean Blackman of Tampa, Fl.
The Memorial Service will be at 1 PM at Mallow Presbyterian Church on February 22, 2025, with Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Emory Methodist Church in Natural Well, VA and will be private.
