WASHINGTON, DC (VR) – Friday, January 3, 2025 – The U.S. House of Representatives voted to elect Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. Following Speaker Johnson’s election, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) joined fellow Members of the House to be officially sworn in for the 119th Congress. Congressman Griffith released the following statement:
“The American people elected a Republican trifecta in 2024 to work to reverse inflationary policies caused by the Biden Administration, secure our southern and northern borders, and project American strength worldwide. I supported Mike Johnson for Speaker so House Republicans can get to work quickly and address these critical issues.”
