The Christmas season is a cherished time for many across the Sixth District and our great Nation. It reminds us of the countless blessings God has bestowed upon us, especially the precious gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. This holiday season, let us pause to express our heartfelt gratitude for those who ensure our safety and health, as well as our brave men and women in uniform, and remember those who are less fortunate among us. From my family to yours, wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Funding our Government

Last week, we passed a clean Continuing Resolution (CR) to maintain current funding through March 2025. This gives Congress the necessary time to develop responsible, long-term solutions under GOP leadership. The Clean CR is essential for keeping our government open and ensuring that the incoming Trump Administration can immediately hit the ground running, implementing the agenda supported by Americans in November. It allows Congress to work alongside the new White House to regain control over the federal budget and focus on policies that align with the priorities of the American people.

Ensuring Robust Oversight for Outgoing Administrations

The American people made their mandate clear in November, and we cannot allow the Biden Administration to ignore their voices. That’s why passing H.R. 115, the Midnight Rules Relief Act, is essential. This legislation is designed to prevent outgoing administrations, thereby from exploiting the midnight rules process to implement sweeping regulations in their final days, bypassing proper scrutiny and public input. Midnight rules are a blatant abuse of power, allowing unelected bureaucrats to push through policies that often favor partisan agendas instead of the will of the people. These last-minute regulations can have significant consequences, yet they often lack the transparency, debate, and accountability that the legislative process demands.

H.R. 115 restores balance and accountability by ensuring that these rushed actions are subject to congressional oversight. It strengthens the democratic process, safeguarding against overreach while giving the American people a stronger voice through their elected representatives. This bill isn’t just about addressing a procedural loophole; it’s about protecting the principles of good governance. It’s about respecting the balance of power, promoting transparency, and ensuring that every American’s voice is heard.

Happy Birthday to the U.S. Space Force

Happy 5th Birthday to the U.S. Space Force! Last week, we celebrated the courageous men and women who safeguard our Nation’s interests in space. Their dedication strengthens our security and propels us toward a future with endless possibilities.

Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas

Our lives, our country, and our world are not without imperfections, and we all face various challenges and uncertainties. However, there is Good News to celebrate. This Christmas season, let us focus on the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who came to bring us hope, joy, and love.

Wishing those who celebrate a Happy Hanukkah, filled with light, love, and blessings. May this season bring peace, happiness, and warmth to you and your loved ones.
