Chargers Take Third in Agie Skeens Memorial Tournament

GRUNDY- The Bath County Chargers wrestling team continued its string of success on Saturday, Dec. 28 at the Agie Skeens Memorial Tournament in Grundy.

The Chargers took third place in the competitive event as their ascension as a program continues to rise.

Results from the Bath County wrestlers are as follows:

TEAM RESULTS:

1st place: Grundy (239.5)
2nd Place: Richlands (188)
3rd Place: Bath County (103.5)
4th Place: Carroll (93)
4th Place: Fort Chiswell (93)

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:

Caleb Harrison: 3rd at 106
Paxton Rivenbark: 3rd at 144
AJ Woodson: 1st at 150
Ethan Bryant: 2nd at 165
Landon Rexrode: 6th at 175
Azi Tyson: 4th at 215
Tyler Shaver: 4th at HWT

Jesse Parry went 3-0 in exhibitions on Friday, and Hunter Shaver went 2-1.

Via the Bath County Wrestling Club’s Facebook page, the coaches said the following:

“We are so proud of the program we’ve built so far. If you see a BC wrestler, be sure to congratulate them. They all earned their spots on the podium today against tough opponents.  Every single one of them contributed to our success, from the middle schoolers to the experienced vets on our team. This tournament was incredibly valuable, we learned a lot and we’re all eager to get back to work. Big thanks to Grundy for their invite and hospitality. Onto the next!”
