LOW MOOR — The Alleghany County School Board will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the central office complex in Low Moor.
The board will be presented with a budget update based on Gov. Ralph Northam’s proposed state budget.
There will be a public hearing on the 2020-2021 operating budget.
Superintendent’s reports and recommendations will include:
— Calendar information.
— Approval of 2020 legislative priorities.
— Approval of a capital improvement plan.
— Approval of revised six-year comprehensive plan.
— Black History Month school activities.
— Information on 2020-2021 dual enrollment, early college scholars and the governor’s school budget.
— A New Tech Network monthly update.
— Preliminary fall SOL scores.
— Approval of a 2020-2021 academic calendar.
— A pupil teacher ratio report for fall 2019.
— A One-to-One Initiative update.
— Proposed Web filtering changes for freshmen and sophomores.
— A request for funds for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) incentives.
— A report on Alleghany High School trainer room/ weight room renovations.
There will be a closed session to discuss the following: Personnel matters and student matters, school safety reports, and a pupil personnel case.
