WestRock’s Alleghany operations has announced position changes that were internally announced in October.
Ronda Meadows has accepted the position of inventory specialist in the Storeroom.
In this position, she is responsible for supporting the operation and management of MRO inventory, monitoring inventory levels, making minimum/maximum recommendations, and communicating with mill stakeholders and suppliers.
Meadows graduated from Alleghany High School in 1984, and received her Administrative Assistant A.A.S., in 1999, from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. In 1999, she accepted a position at Bacova Guild in customer service and purchasing.
In 2007, Meadows joined MeadWestvaco, in Richmond at the corporate office, as a transaction buyer. She worked at CPAP Dropship as a department lead from 2007-2014.
In 2014, Meadows returned to Bacova Guild as a compliance consultant. Meadows joined WestRock at the Covington mill as an MRO inventory analyst in 2019.
Chris Bugajski has accepted the position of senior safety and health coordinator in the Safety department. In this position, he is responsible for all aspects of safety for the Fiberline and Power/Recovery areas.
Bugajski earned his B.S. in Safety Management from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pa., in May 2016. Before joining the Covington mill, he was the safety management intern at RTS Packaging in Charleroi, Pa., during the summer of 2015.
Bugajski joined the Covington mill in 2016 as a health and safety coordinator, and was promoted to safety & health coordinator- Power/Recovery in January 2019.
Tyler Totten has accepted the position of environmental engineer in the Environmental department.
In this position, he is responsible for air emissions related compliance activities for the Covington mill.
Totten graduated from Fairmont State University, in 2018, with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. In May 2017, he joined the Covington mill as a process engineer co-op.
Totten joined MEC construction in April 2018 as an AutoCAD technician and then accepted a position in August 2018 with Mersen USA in Salem as a mechanical design engineer. Earlier this year, Totten accepted the position of process engineer in the Fiberline at the Covington mill.
John Newmarker is taking on a new multi-year assignment as the manager of the WestRock Performance Excellence System (PES) at the Low Moor converting plant.
Newmarker earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University in 1984. He began his career with Westvaco in 1986 as an assistant production coordinator in Production, Planning, and Control at the Covington mill.
Later that year, Newmarker transferred to the Low Moor converting plant as a production scheduler. He was promoted to production foreman in 1997, and production supervisor in 1999.
In 2003, Newmarker left MWV to pursue missionary work. He accepted a position in 2004 with Total Plant Maintenance as a maintenance supervisor at the Low Moor converting plant.
In 2008, Newmarker joined MWV as environmental, safety, and maintenance supervisor. In 2011, he was promoted to production manager at Low Moor.
Mike Quillen has accepted the position of plant manager at the Low Moor converting plant.
In this position, Quillen is responsible for safe daily operating performance for all areas of the facility. Quillen will be a champion for the new business operating system, known as the WestRock Performance Excellence System (PES), that will be launched in January.
Quillen earned his B.S. in Engineering Tech from Eastern Tennessee State University in 1989 and accepted the position of production supervisor at General Shale Products corporation in Somerset that same year.
In 1998, he was promoted to assistant plant manager, and in 2001, he became plant manager of General Shale Products’ Blue Ridge location. Quillen became the director of manufacturing at Old Virginia Brick in 2006. In 2015, he joined the Low Moor converting plant as extrusion supervisor.
