Roscoe Hubbard “Rusty” Downey, Jr.
Roscoe Hubbard “Rusty” Downey, Jr., age 65, of 624 Thornton Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center, Clifton Forge.
Rusty was born on May 24, 1959 in Clifton Forge to the late Roscoe Hubbard Downey, Sr. and Dorothy Opal Payne Downey. He was a longtime sorter and deliverman for United Parcel Service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a loving son and brother.
In addition to his parents, Rusty was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret “Carol” Downey Clark and Nancy Downey Little.
He is survived by three sisters, Roxie Downey of Covington, Robin D. Rickett and husband Carey of Covington, and Mary Jane D. Anderson and husband Kevin of Fincastle; a brother-in-law, Charles Little of Clifton Forge; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. There are no services planned at this time.
