WHITE SULPHUR- The Greenbrier Tipoff gets under this weekend at the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur and there is legit excitement in the area.

First, this Friday, November 15, the River Division will take center stage—or court—and feature two games on Friday and then a third-place game and championship game on Saturday.

UT Rio Grande Valley, Charleston Southern, VMI, and Tennessee Tech are the four teams participating in the first weekend in what should be a competitive few games inside Colonial Hall.

The venue features and up-close look at the players as the bleachers and seating areas are right by all the action.

“Colonial Hall will be one of the most unique atmospheres in college basketball. I can’t think of a place where fans can get a better view of the action, and they can enjoy all the incredible things The Greenbrier offers before and after the game,” Director of Public Relations Cam Huffman said.

Besides that, the Resort is excited to host fans from across the country.

“The Greenbrier has hosted many incredible sporting events in the past, and we’re excited about this next chapter. We have an excellent field of teams from all over the country, and we can’t wait to show them what Greenbrier hospitality is all about. We’re expecting many fans who have never been to America’s Resort before, and we hope to turn them into members of The Greenbrier family,” Huffman stated.

Next weekend, Nov. 22 and 24, the Mountain Division will tip-off. Pitt, LSU, Wisconsin, and UCF are the four teams in that one. We will preview them next week.

Notables:

  • In addition to the tournament games, there is a women’s game scheduled for November 17 at noon, featuring Radford and Navy.
  • Tickets are still available for all sessions. A session includes every game that day. Tickets are available here. https://www.sitickets.com/greenbrier-tipoff
  • UTRGV played No. 15 Creighton close last week before falling 99-86.
  • Tennessee Tech nearly upset Georgia, falling 83-78.
  • Wisconsin, Pitt, LSU and UCF are all currently undefeated. UCF upset No. 13 Texas A&M.
  • Parking will be in Train Lot across the street, and shuttles will bring fans to the Front Entrance.
  • Concessions will be available.
  • The River Division Games will be streamed live on passthaballlive.com. The Mountain Division games will air live on CBS Sports Network.
  • Marshall-Radford last year was the first college game played at The Greenbrier. The Battle for the Springhouse high school tournament began in 2022 and brought basketball inside Colonial Hall for the first time.
