SALEM- In the biggest cross-country event of the year, Alleghany and Covington Middle–along with Elementary Schools as well– participated in the Knights Crossing Invitational at Greenhill Park in Salem.
The Alleghany girls’ team placed 11th out of 38 teams in the large school race. Kiera Lowman narrowly missed yet another first place finish but was beaten by a mere half a second right at the finish line by Hannah Ray. The male Cougars finished in eighth place in the Small School’s race and recorded five personal records on the day. Maddox Wickline medaled and secured 13th place.
A seventh place finish out of 33 teams for the Covington Middle School boys was impressive as Levi Bartley came in 22nd place. The Covington girls’ placed 16th as Haley Jonas had a good day and medaled in 15th place.
