The First Church of God in Christ, Clifton Forge, and the Prophetic Partners of Virginia sponsored a Ministry Outreach Event last Monday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm at Booker T. Washington Park, Clifton Forge.

The community was treated to free lunches of hot dogs, chips, drinks, an assortment of desserts, and clothes from the clothes closet. A committee, made up of various area church members, prepared and delivered the lunches. Each lunch tray was attached with a sticker that
read, “we are sending lots of love and hugs your way.”

“We had a decent turn out, but we delivered twice as many as we served in person,” said Rev. Trina Carter Edwards. “I guess people didn’t want to come out because it’s so hot,” she added.

“Our ministry outreach event today was a huge success,” said Edwards at the conclusion of the event. “Lives were touched and changed today all to the glory of God! We are planning to do more of these types of events,” she added.

The committee would like to thank all who served, donated, delivered lunches, and came out to support this event.
