Mr. Chance Matthew Lemons, age 23, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.
Chance was born December 14, 1985 in Newport News, the son of Laura Wright Lemons and Steve Mitchem.
He was of the Baptist faith. Chance loved to watch sports especially his favorite teams, the Atlanta Falcons, the San Antonio Spurs, and the San Francisco Giants. He was an avid video gamer and especially enjoyed playing XBox Live with his friends, as well as the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour.
Chance loved spending time with four of his best friends, Matt, Nathan, Zach and Josh.
In addition to his parents, Laura Wright Lemons and Steven Mitchem, Chance is survived by his grandmother, Martha H. Myers; one uncle, Cris Walton and Toni; one aunt, Lysia Buhler and Brookie of Harrisonburg; a number of cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 22, 2009, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. John Burnham officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Mitchem, Terry Mitchem, Matt Boone, Nathan Menefee, Zach Murray, Josh Craft, Michael Walton and Allan Grasso.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M at Loving Funeral Home.
