CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Clarksville man, wearing only boxers and sandals, has bagged a deer, finishing a kill some other hunter failed to complete.
The Leaf-Chronicle quoted Joel Borden who said his friends are making a “big deal” of his hunting attire and his weapon – a stick.
Borden said he was fixing a cup of coffee in his kitchen Saturday morning when he saw the wounded deer stumble into his back yard. He went outside and the deer ran into nearby woods with Borden in pursuit.
Borden said he knocked the deer unconscious with a tree limb, then cut its throat. The result was a refrigerator full of venison.
Dale Grandstaff with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says the agency often gets calls from people who find wounded deer that hunters failed to track and kill.
