CLIFTON FORGE – Audrey Carpenter Hayslett, 84, formerly of Donovan Street, Selma, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009 at The Woodlands Nursing Home, Clifton Forge.
Born Jan. 2, 1925 in Bath County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Hampton Carpenter and Mamie Mines Carpenter. She was a retired production worker for the former Mizzy, Inc. of Clifton Forge and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking and loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev. Virgil Woodie officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.
Pallbearers will be Chris Wiley, Richard Evans, Wayne Evans, Doug Morris, Jerry Whitehead, Wayne Perkins, Britt Mays and Joey Morris.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
