CLIFTON FORGE – David Lyttleton Waddell Jr., 74, of 3723 Signal Hill Ave N.W. Roanoke, formerly of Richmond, died Monday Dec. 14, 2009 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem.
He was born Sept. 26, 1935 in Covington, a son of the late David Lyttleton Waddell Sr. and Virginia Belle Tucker Waddell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Larry Dean Waddell, Jon Wayne Harouff, Glen Waddell-Caldwell; and a brother, Spencer L. Waddell.
Mr. Waddell was a retired fabricator, welder and maintenance operator at Upaco-Adhesives in Richmond and a member of Covington Baptist Church, Covington.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette L.”Netsy” Pinckard Waddell; three daughters, Linda C. Eley, of Decatur, Ga., Sherry Holladay and her husband, Michael, of Johnson City, Tenn., Paige Morgan and her husband Larry, of Covington; one son, Richard Waddell and his wife Deneen, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Rev. Chris Poluikis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home on Sunday.
